Provide clerical support to ensure efficient management of the unit. Coordinate with other departments at the medical center to ensure the smooth and proper functioning of the unit. Monitor utilization of supplies. Place requisitions to secure unit requirements, receive the requested supplies and stock them in an organized manner. Keep nursing station tidy. File reports appropriately in patients’ medical records. Update necessary information on the AS400. Enter patients’ charges on the system and fill patient charge slips accurately for all chargeable items. Prepare and maintain accurate records of patient charge cards. Accountable for the use of hospital resources. Assume responsibility for meeting JCI required mandatory education, e.g., fire and safety, infection control and others. Answer and re-direct telephone inquiries promptly and ensure the appropriate person is contacted. Assist in receiving and greeting unit visitors in courtesy, including providing them with relevant information and directing them appropriately.
